Peter Plaskey enters his first season as the men’s lacrosse graduate assistant under head coach Joe Rautenstrauch.
Before coming to John Carroll, Plaskey served as an assistant coach at University of Tampa. He also was the head junior varsity coach for the Spartans. During his tenure, he helped guide Tampa to the 2018 Sunshine State Conference Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Division II Men’s Lacrosse Championships.
At the high school level, Plaskey had a three-year stint as the Varsity B Head Coach at his alma mater, Brother Rice High School. During that time, he helped six players sign letters of intent to play at division I institution prior to appearing in “Varsity A” game.
As a player, Plaskey was a four-year member of the Mercyhurst men’s lacrosse program, earning the title of captain as a senior. During his career, the former defender helped the Lakers to two NCAA Division II National Championship appearances in 2013 and 2011, with Mercyhurst being named the champion in 2011.
Through Plaskey’s four seasons, Mercyhurst also earned one ECAC II championship title (2013) and two East Coast Conference (ECC) championship titles in 2010 and 2012. Plaskey himself was named an ECC all-league selection in 2012.
Plaskey also worked as a camp counselor at Warriors Elite Lacrosse Camps from 2007-2013, where helped develop players at various ages (5-18) through instruction and skill development.
Outside of lacrosse, Plaskey volunteered as a seventh and eighth grade basketball coach at St. Regis Parish.
A 2013 graduate, Plaskey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Business Management. He is currently pursuing his Master in Business Administration.
