Bryan Christiansen finishes his first season with the John Carroll swimming and diving program. He will serve as an assistant coach under head coach Mark Fino.
Prior to John Carroll, Christiansen gained over nine years of coaching experience at the college, high school, and club levels. Most recently, he was an assistant coach at SUNY New Paltz for two seasons, finishing with a combined 15-5 record between the men's and women's teams. He also helped guide the Hawks to an undefeated regular-season record during the 2016-17 season.
Christiansen also aided in the Hawks' success at the national and conference level. Over the two seasons, two swimmers achieved three NCAA "B" Cuts status in addition to eight conference champions being crowned. The Hawks also set three new conference-highs and broke 14 program records.
He also served as a volunteer coach at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) from 2011-2013, during which he mainly worked with the distance group. In addition to that, Christiansen was the head coach of the Penfield High School women's team during the 2014-15 season as well as a coach at three New York swim clubs between 2008-2017.
A Hiram College graduate, Christiansen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2008. He later earned his Master of Science degree in Communication & Media Technology from RIT in 2013.
