Erin Brooks will begin her seventh year at the helm of the John Carroll softball program in 2013 with a career record of 146-97, including 68-38 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. For the past three seasons, her teams have won either the OAC regular season or tournament championship.
Led by Brooks, the 2012 Blue Streaks made history, knocking off Ohio Northern in the OAC Tournament final to earn the program's first ever NCAA Playoff appearance. JCU won one of three games at the Alma (MI) NCAA Regionals, finishing the season with a 31-15 overall record, and a 12-6 OAC mark.
In 2011, the Blue & Gold finished 26-14, and captured a share of the OAC Regular season title for the first time in program history.
Her 2010 squad won three straight games in the OAC Tournament to grab its championship, finishing 26-15 overall.
After a successful collegiate career at Fordham University, Brooks joined the JCU staff in 2006. A graduate assistant coach for the Blue Streaks during 2006 and 2007, she took over as head coach of JCU softball when Gretchen Weitbrecht stepped down after 17 years in the position.
In just her first year, she successfully lead the team to the OAC playoffs for the first time since 2003, making it their second overall appearance. The squad finished with a 17-21 record.
Brooks was a two-time Academic All-American during her playing career at Fordham. She helped the Rams make back-to-back Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances and record consecutive 30-win seasons.
A centerfielder, she started every game for the Rams as a junior and led the team in nine different categories while scoring a program-record 33 runs. As a senior, she set career-highs with 10 doubles, two home runs and 25 RBI.
Brooks received two major student-athlete awards at Fordham -- The 2004 Claire G. Hobbs Award as Fordham's Female Athlete of the Year, and the 2004 Daniel Quilty Student-Athlete Award for academic achievement, excellence in athletics and active participation in community service.
Prior to arriving at Fordham, Brooks was a second team NFCA All-American in 2001 as a sophomore at Division III Cabrini College.
