Biography

Again led the Blue Streaks at the plate in her second season … Was JCU’s leader in eight major batting categories including, battign average (.466), runs (23), hits (48), doubles (10), homeruns (6), RBI (32) and slugging percentage (.738) Ranked third in the OAC in batting average and slugging percentage and led the conference in walks (29) … Her six homeruns was fifth in the conference … She finished her sophomore year third on the team with 101 putouts while starting all 39 games at catcher … Made a major impact as a freshman starting 38 games in her first season, and turned in an outstanding .462 batting average, which was fourth best in the OAC with at least 100 plate appearances ... Led the team in multiple hit games (15), multiple RBI games (20), runs batted in (56), and home runs (11) ... Totaled 55 hits on the season, including 14 doubles ... Ranked first in the OAC in slugging percentage at .874 ...  At Beaumount High School, she was named First Team All-Ohio, First Team All-Cuyahoga, Plain Dealer First Team (‘03, ‘05) and the Plain Dealer leading batter (’03) with a .613 mark ... Was also part of the French club, S.I.E.G.E president, varsity volleyball, band and was named captain of the softball team her junior and senior year ... Mathematics and/or Education are her chose fields of study at JCU ... Daughter of Pam and Luke Smrdel.
