Maddie Dolce '20, '21G enters her second season as an assistant coach with John Carroll Swimming & Diving in the 2025-26 academic year.
In her first season as an assistant coach, Dolce guided the Blue Streaks to success. John Carroll won its ninth straight OAC Men's and Women's Championships in dominant fashion. JCU compiled a men's dual record of 9-1 and a women's dual record of 7-3.
Dolce was a part of the Blue Streak swimming & diving program as a student-athlete from 2016-20. In 2020, Dolce was honored as a recipient of the Clyde Lamb Award. This award is the highest honor you can receive as a student-athlete at an Ohio Athletic Conference school. In order to qualify for this award, you must participate in at least 2 years of OAC sports, attain a minimum of 3.00 grade point average, and conduct sportsmanlike behavior that brings credit to the school. Dolce not only qualified for those requirements, she went above and beyond during her career at JCU. She served as a volunteer at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida and participated in the Jesuit Day of Service. And of course, she helped lead the team to many countless OAC victories in the pool, including a string of conference championships.
Dolce graduated in 2020 from John Carroll with a degree in Exercise Science and returned to get her Master's in Education.
After graduating, Dolce served as an elementary school teacher for three years. She has taught swim lessons for 10 years and coached swimming for seven years with many different teams including the Geauga Otters YMCA, the SEL Sea Monkeys swim team, and Hathaway Brown High School. Dolce still gets in the water by swimming with the Ohio Masters Swim Team.
