Blue Streaks Climb Back Over .500 With Workmanlike Win At Wilmington

Adam Pizzurro moved into 17th place all time in JCU history with his 81st career victory at Wilmington Friday

from staff reports

Although not as dominating as their earlier effort this week against Muskingum, John Carroll came away with a 26-15 victory over Wilmington College Friday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet staged in Wilmington, Ohio.

The Blue Streaks, still minus a handful of starters, got major decisions from Adam Pizzurro at 133 and Ben Adams at 184, decisions from Greg Elliott at 149 and Tim Lambert at 285, and forfeit wins by Dominic Spitalieri at 141 and Steven Bagnowski at 184 for their 26 points.

Pizzurro, who won his 80th career match by accepting a forfeit Tuesday night, earned number 81 on the mat. Dominating from start to finish, the senior 133-pounder would put Russell McFadden  away by a 10-1 score.

Adams earned his team-leading 18th match by rolling to a 132- triumph over Cody Hamilton at 184.

With the team victory, John Carroll now climbs back over .500 at 6-5, and improved to 2-0 in the OAC
