For the first time in the 2008 campaign, the John Carroll women's soccer team was shutout in a loss as host Ohio Northern blanked the Blue Streaks by a 2-0 count Saturday in Ada, Ohio.
JCU had been shutout just one other time this season, but that was in a 0-0 tie against Rochester Institute of Technology back on August 30.
Ohio Northern scored two goals in the second half to send the Blue Streaks to just their third loss of the year. Michelle Zrebiec made six saves in the match.
ONU held the edge in shots (15-7) and corner kicks (5-1) as it improved to 10-4 overall and 4-1 in the OAC. John Carroll fell to 9-3-3 and 2-2-1 in league play.
