Scott McKinney scored the lone goal and a stone wall defense did not allow a single shot on goal as John Carroll kept pace with the front runners of the Ohio Athletic Conference thanks to a 1-0 road win over Otterbein Wednesday in Westerville, Ohio.

McKinney scored his team-leading eighth goal of the year at the 21:08 mark, and the Blue Streaks made that lead stand up the remainder of the way.

John Carroll had a 9-4 advantade in total shots taken and a 5-0 margin in shots on goal. Otterbein had six corner kicks while JCU tallied four.

The victory pushes John Carroll's overall record to 8-4-2 overall and 4-1-1 in the OAC. Otterbein falls to 6-6-2 and 3-3-0 in leage play. It was John Carroll's second consecutive road win after starting the year 0-4-1 on the away from home.

With Capital and Ohio Northern winning today as well, Capital (5-1-0, 15 pts) continues to hold a half game lead over John Carroll and Ohio Northern (both 4-1-1, 13 pts.).
