Box Scores: vs. CWRU  /  vs. Aurora  /  vs. LaRoche  /  vs. Aurora (3rd place)

John Carroll rebounded from an opening loss to win its final three matches and place third at the Mount Union Invitational, held Friday and Saturday in Alliance, Ohio.

After dropping its first match of the season in three games to cross town rival CWRU, the Blue Streaks won impressively in its second match.  JCU split the first two sets before blasting Aurora  in a 25-10, 21-25, 25-16, 25-16 victory.

On Saturday, the Blue Streaks completed pool play with a sweep of LaRoche. That set-up a rematch with Aurora to decide third place.

JCU found the going much tougher in the second meeting, having to go to a fifth game before pulling out the win. The final score of the marathon match between the Blue Streaks and Spartans was 25-23, 23-25, 26-24, 17-25, 15-11.

Sophomore setter Meredith McDiarmid represented John Carroll on the Mount Union Invitational all-tournament team.

More information on the individual matches will be posted as statistics become available.
