Emily Jackson and the Blue Streaks exacted revenge against Case Reserve Wednesday night

In their first match of the season, the John Carroll Blue Streaks met the Case Reserve Spartans in the opening round of the Mount Union Invitational on August 29. It was all Spartans in a 3-0 sweep.
Wednesday night on the CWRU campus, John Carroll turned the tables as the Blue Streaks upset the Spartans in a marathon match, three games to two.
After dropping the first two games by scores of 25-20 and 20-18, John Carroll was able to reverse its fortunes to stage an epic comeback. After claiming game three and four by identical counts of 25-20, the Blue Streaks outlasted the Spartans in the fifth and deciding frame, 19-17.
Laura Isbell had a team-high 15 kills, while MaryEileen Dalton and Kerry Fox each posted 12 kills. Emily Jackson recorded a team-best 23 digs to help John Carroll improve to 12-6 on the season.
The 12 victories achieved by John Carroll this season matches the total the Blue Streaks amassed in all of 2007.
The victory also represented John Carroll's first comeback from a 2-0 deficit since rallying to defeat Gettysburg on September 1, 2007, at the Mount Union Invitational
