Streaks Win League Opener

The Blue Streaks earned the victory in their league opener this past Saturday at W&J, with the score of 5-4. The victory leaves JCU at 1-0-0 in the CHMA and 2-4-0 overall on the season.

John Carroll was lead by Senior Captain Zach Skook (Boardman, OH) with 2 goals and an assist on the night. "We had a bit of a tough week of practice after getting swept last weekend, but the guys pulled together for the tough road win tonight." JCU also got help from some freshmen asJesse Deitrick (Mars, PA, Northfield Mount Herman Prep) and Sean Lattal (Fishers, IN) added a goal each to the effort.

Head Coach Chris Wilk mixed things up a bit this week as the team returns to good health. "We've been banged up pretty good the past few weeks. We changed up the lines and D pairing quite a bit this week to generate a bit more offense and better match W&J in our D Zone." stated Coach Wilk.

Senior Goalie Nick Fabrizio (Chicago, IL) got his second win of the season stopping 22 shots on the night, including a breakaway with 33 seconds remaining in the game. "Nick was big for us when he had to be," stated Skook.

The Bluestreaks finally stop at home for a pair this weekend. Friday vs #15 UM-Dearborn at 8:10pm and Saturday vs league rival Youngstown State at 6:00pm.
