The Blue Streaks win streak hit a season high of three, with an overtime victory over Scranton 4-3 on Friday. Unfortunately JCU couldn't keep it rolling and fell to Buffalo 4-3 on Saturday. The Streaks dominated Scranton in every aspect of the game Friday out-shooting the Purple Eagles 45-23. Coach Wilk was pleased with the play, "We're starting to play with some energy and it's shown during the win streak. Everyone is starting to contribute and it's taken the pressure off our top guys".
The spark for the Streaks vs Scranton came from Freshman
Jonathan Zoubek, who notched his first goal of the season. Zoubek was happy to contribute, "I've been working hard all year waiting for an opportunity. It was nice to contribute and help the team win." Fresman Jesse Dietrick also added a goal each night.
Even in the loss vs Buffalo on Saturday, the Streaks appear to have turned a corner. After some very lack luster performances during Oct the team has strung together five good efforts. A big factor in the change in performance has fallen on Senior Goalie Nick Fabrizio. Coach Wilk credits a lot of the turn around to Nick's play, "Nick has been key in all our wins this year. He's been able to come up with big saves over the past four games to give us a chance to win. The team feeds off Nick's play."
The Streaks are set for a rematch vs ECC this Friday at home, with a 8:10pm start. Come on out and support the Streaks!
