John Carroll played without two of its top three scorers and its four-year starting goalkeeper, yet still managed to make quite a statement in blanking Case Reserve, 2-0, in a non-conference match-up Wednesday afternoon at Shula Stadium.

But less than seven minutes in, Ryan Ricart (Erie, PA, McDowell) fed a pass to David Hickey (Stow, OH, St. Vincent-St. Mary) who rocketed a shot from the left side of the box into the upper right corner of the net.
