Jackie Leuby (New Albany, OH, New Albany High School) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Golfer of the Week for her efforts in earning medalist honors on Sunday at the 2009 Capital Fall Invitational.
In the tournament held at Westchester Golf Club in Canal Winchester, Ohio, both Leuby and Wilmington's Amanda Dixon turned in matching scores of 81, including an identical 40 on the front nine and a 41 on the back nine. She won the tournament on a scorecard playoff that was decided on the fifth handicap hole.
In winning the tournament, Leuby becomes the first John Carroll women's golfer to place first in an event since Amada Shannon was medalist at the 2008 OAC Championships on April 27 of that year.
She is the first John Carroll women's golfer to earn this honor.
