John Carroll wrestling head coach Kerry Volkmann started his eighth different starting line-up in nine matches this season, and this one turned out to be among his most productive.

On the strength of seven straight wins from 141 to 197 pounds, the patchwork Blue Streak roster delivered a 30-12 win over host Wilmington College Tuesday night in an Ohio Athletic Conference match.

After JCU gave up six points in a forfeit at 125 pounds, senior Greg Stolfer made his 2009-2010 debut this eveving and dropped a 5-1 decision at 133 pounds to Chris Heiss.

David Malkus would start the parade of wins for the Blue Streaks at 141. He recorded his fifth consecutive victory by earning a 4-1 decision over Tim Brown. Connor Suba followed with his 15th win of the year, a pin of Luke Armand at the 4:23 mark.

Vinny Pizzuli came up with a stunning 7-0 shutout over Wilmington veteran Mark Sedziol at 157, after which Sean Gill and Travis Hammer posted wins at 165 and 174, respectively.

JCU would score its final 12 points on forfeit victories by Ben Adams at 184 pounds -- his 20th of the season -- and Jim Nemunaitis (JCU) at 197.

With its third consecutive victory, John Carroll improves to 4-5 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The loss drops Wilmington to 1-3 in the OAC and 1-5 overall.
