Alex Vereshchagin had two wins in Friday night's quadrangular meet ... and nearly a third in the 200 Free Relay

Drew Edson (Birmingham, MI, Brother Rice ) and
Alex Vereshchagin (Solon, OH, Solon) each claiming two victories, the John Carroll Blue Streaks won two of their three dual meets as part of a quadrangular competition Friday evening at Notre Dame College's Keller Center in South Euclid, Ohio.
Results
John Carroll defeated both Lake Erie (172-40) and the host Falcons (129-102) but lost to Ohio Athletic Conference rival Ohio Northern (159-81).
Edson, the reigning OAC Swimmer of the Week, won both the 200 Free (1:45.97) and the 500 Free (4:55.25). Vereshchagin swam to wins in the 50 Free (21.94) and 100 Free (48.10).
The final race of the night served to set the stage for what could be one of the prime time battles in next months OAC Championship. In the 200 Free Relay, Ohio Northern (1:27.95) edged the John Carroll quartet of Edson,
Jimmy Ranallo (Willoughby, OH, Notre-Dame Cathedral Latin),
Brennan Schloendorn (Westlake, St. Ignatius) and Vereshchagin by less than two-tengths of a second (1:28.13).
John Carroll is now 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the OAC.
