RJ Sullivan and his friends on the John Carroll football team are set to tackle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
With the son of a John Carroll alumnus leading the way, the Blue Streak football team is prepared to tackle Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy with a Coach To Cure MD fundraiser event that coincides with Community Day on Saturday, October 15, at Don Shula Stadium.
R.J. Sullivan, the son of JCU graduate Suzanne Hoffman Sullivan and her husband Joe, is a third grade student at St. Bernadette School in Westlake, Ohio. The Sullivans are teaming with the John Carroll football team to take on DMD (Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy), a progressive muscle disorder that affects one out of every 3,500 boys.
The John Carroll University football team is proud to sponsor Coach The Cure MD, a partnership between the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD). A tent will be set up at the Shula Stadium gateway plaza on Saturday for the JCU vs. Muskingum football game. Those who stop by will have a chance to win a "Football Fanatic" or Cleveland Rocks" gift basket.
