Clare Wellott and the Blue Streaks will look to put the end of the regular season past them
In some cases, games almost seem over before they start. One of those cases unfortunately befell the John Carroll Blue Streaks Saturday at Capital.
Two goals in the first ten minutes, less than 40 seconds apart, were all the host Crusaders needed to slap a 3-0 loss on the visiting Streaks in the final regular season match for both squads.
Box Score
John Carroll and Capital were essentially playing for which team would be seeded third and which would be fourth in next week's OAC Tournament. But when Kaylee Phillips and Natalie Fiorelli scored at the 9:07 and the 9:53 marks, respectively, it took the drama out of that battle.
As a result, Capital will be the #3 seed and host the #6 seed, while John Carroll will be the #4 seed and host either Baldwin-Wallace or Heidelberg.
The loss was also the first road setback suffered by the Blue Streaks since a 2-0 loss at Otterbein on october 1st.
John Carroll concluded the regular season with a record of 11-7-0 overall and 6-3-0 in the OAC.
