The Blue Streaks knew they were up against stiff competition heading into Cleveland State's Busbey Natatorium for the Cleveland Dual Meet Invitational that featured the home Vikings and fellow Division I opponent Canisius College, along with Notre Dame College.

And while they were unable to overcome the big schools, falling to Cleveland State, 175-59, and Canisius, 184-56, the Blue & Gold defeated Notre Dame College by a 116-103 score.

Though technically scored as separate dual meets, the Invitational featured the four participating schools racing together, with individual events accounting for overall points.

Leading the way for John Carroll were Nick Holvey and David Sved, who finished second and third, respectively in the 100-Yard Freestyle with times of 48.73 and 49.75.

Eric Davis added a fifth place overall finish in the 50-Yard Freestyle (22.44) and the 200-Yard Butterfly (2:06.40) for the Blue Streaks.

John Carroll will return to the pool this Friday, December 2 at Notre Dame College.  The meet against the Falcons will commence at 6:00 p.m.
