Box Scores:  Game One  /  Game Two

JCU was aggressive from the get go in game one. Two walks, two steals and an RBI hit by Tom Hickey spotted the Streaks a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.

After Mount Union tied the score at 2-2 with single runs in the second and third, the Blue Streaks scored two more runs in the top of the fourth and never looked back. The big blows came in the fifth as John carroll tallied four runs on five hits, which included an RBI single by Chris Larry, an RBI double by Brian Benander and an RBI triple by Johnny Hastings.

All the offense was in support of Tom Schaberl who struck out eight (one shy of matching his career high) and allowed just two runs on seven hits in six innings of work. Schaberl improved to 2-1 on the season.

Game two was a close affair for the first six innings. JCU had an early 1-0 lead but fell behind 3-1. After scoring in the sixth to cut the deficit to  a single run, the Blue Streaks were put away by a four-run seventh by the host Purple Raiders.
