Jerry Rubino and the Blue Streaks got off to a rough start on the first of seven consecutive road matches
Box Score A familiar storyline developed Sunday afternoon for the John Carroll men's soccer team.

Despite playing an even match in terms of shots and shots on goal, the Blue Streaks ended up on the short end of a 4-0 setback against crosstown rival Case Western Reserve at Case Field.

Box Score

Sunday's contest marked the first of seven away from home for the Blue Streaks, who are not scheduled to return to Shula Stadium as a host of a game until October 8.

JCU held a slight edge in shots (17-16) and were even in shots on goal (7-7), but the Spartans converted on two goals in both the first and second half to roll to its fourth win in as many matches.

The match was delayed for almost 90 minutes in the second half due to lightning.

JCU is now 1-4 this season.
