Eric Davis and Brittany Danilov will be honored at the annual OAC Awards Banquet on May 14 in Worthington, Ohio
Coaches and administrators for the John Carroll University Athletic Department have selected Brittany Danilov from the softball team and Eric Davis from the swimming and diving program as the recipients of the 2012 Clyde A. Lamb Scholar-Athlete Award given by the Ohio Athletic Conference.

The Clyde A. Lamb Award is given annually to one male and one female athlete from each Ohio Athletic Conference institution and is the highest honor bestowed upon a student-athlete in the OAC.

Brittany Danilov has embodied the OAC's commitment to sportmanship, athletics, and academics for the last four years.  By now it is no secret that she will go down as one of the finest players in John Carroll softball history.

She can now add 2011-12 Clyde Lamb Scholar-Athlete Award winner to her list of conference accolades that includes first team All-OAC (2009-2012), OAC Pitcher of the Year (2009, 2011, 2012), and OAC Player of the Year (2012).

Away from the softball diamond, she holds a 3.48 GPA while majoring in Accounting.  Danilov has served as Publicity Chair for the JCU Accounting Association and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative.

A four-year starter as a pitcher, Danilov owns 15 career school records and 18 single season records.  In 2012, she led the Blue Streaks to an OAC Tournament Championship and the softball program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.  She finished 23-7 with a 2.53 ERA while striking out 208 batters in 199.1 innings.  She added seven shut-outs and one no-hitter.

Eric Davis has had a long and successful career on the JCU swimming & diving team, with four OAC titles and several school records to his name.

A two-time OAC Swimmer of the Week, Davis has put forth All-Conference finishes (Top 3) in nine races throughout his career.

As a senior in 2011-12, he helped set a league record in the 200 Freestyle Relay, winning the event with a time of 1:24.08 at the OAC Championships.  He added a title in the 400 Freestyle Relay and a third place finish in the 100 Butterfly.

In addition to his nautical exploits, Davis is a Business major with a 3.71 GPA.  He is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and the JCU Accounting Association.

The recipients of the Clyde Lamb award must have participated for at least two years in an OAC-sponsored sport, have a senior status, a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and sportsmanlike conduct in a manner that has brought credit to the student-athlete and his or her institution.
