The Blue Streaks visited Otterbein University Saturday afternoon and produced a sweep in the doubleheader, defeating the Cardinals 4-1 and 5-4 at Fishbaugh Field.

After two scoreless innings in Game One, JCU put two runs on the board in the third and one in the fourth, which turned out to be plenty of scoring for sophomore pitcher Anthony Libertini. 

Libertini tossed five and two-thirds innings, surrendering six hits and just one run to pick up his second win in 2012.  Freshman Tyler Ferretti came in to slam the door on Otterbein and pick up the save.

Mitchell Herringshaw was the only mult-hit Blue Streak of the game, as he went 2-for-3 with one run scored.  Four different players picked up an RBI in the victory.

Otterbein's Billy Harkenrider went 3-for-3 for the home team, driving in one run.

The late afternoon contest was one of more suspense. 

The Cardinals scattered three runs throughout the first four innings against JCU's Patrick O'Brien to take a 3-0 lead into the sixth inning.

But the Streaks picked up the bats and went back to work, scoring five runs in the next three innings to take a 5-3 advantage into the eighth.  Otterbein fired back with one run in the bottom of eighth frame, before Kevin Rosinski took the mound and helped the Blue & Gold complete the sweep.

JCU pounded out nine hits in Game Two, led by Herringshaw, Dan Potter, and Mark Huddle (two hits each).

The nailbiting win, coupled with the early victory, vaulted the Blue Streaks to a 12-13 overall record and evened their OAC ledger at 5-5.  Otterbein slips to 16-14, 3-7 in league play.
