Matt Brodman and the Blue Streaks soared past the Otterbein Cardinals to improve to 9-2 on the year

John Carroll did, however, wrap up an extended string of matches away from home Wednesday afternoon in Westerville, Ohio. Using a quick start out of the gate with two goals in the opening 19 minutes, the Blue Streaks cruised to a 3-0 triumph over the host Otterbein University Cardinals.

Thor Eriksen played a ricochet in the box and put in the first goal of the match in the seventh minute for John Carroll. Fellow senior
Nathan Sharbaugh knocked in the second goal in the 19th minute for a 2-0 lead.
JCU pushed the lead to 3-0 early in the second half when Eriksen struck again in the 48th minute.
Chris Garbinsky made five saves and
Zach Fehrenbach kept the sheet clean with an additional three stops as John Carroll -- ranked 6th in the latest NSCAA Great Lakes Region poll -- posted a shutout against the top scoring offense in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Otterbein also entered the match ranked 13th in all of Division III with 3.40 goals per contest.
John Carroll, which has not played at home since September 21, improved to 9-2 overall and 2-0 in the OAC, while Otterbein dropped to 5-6 overall and 0-2 in league action.
This was John Carroll's ninth consecutive win over the Cardinals dating back to the 2005 season, and its third consecutive victory by a 3-0 score.
