Women's Soccer Ties Baldwin Wallace In Key OAC Matchup

In what could turn out to be a critical week in terms of seeding for the John Carroll University women's soccer team, the Blue Streaks had a tough midweek test.

John Carroll battled Baldwin Wallace, one of two remaining undefeated teams in conference play to a scoreless draw on a rainy Tuesday night inside George Finnie Stadium in Berea, Ohio. With its second straight tie John Carroll's record stands at 9-3-3, 3-1-2 OAC. Baldwin Wallace's record stands at 9-6-2, 5-0-1 OAC.

Haley McDonald was on point in goal tying her career-high with 14 saves giving her six matches with double-digit stops on the season. It marked the Pittsburgh, Pa. native's seventh shutout of the year.

The senior turned away five shots over the final 10 minutes of regulation as the Yellow Jackets peppered the Blue Streak goal. McDonald added two saves in overtime as JCU kept the BW strikers in check.

The Blue Streaks were held to six shots for the game. Maggie Reilly had JCU's best chance at a game-winner in the extra time sending a shot wide in the 102nd minute.

John Carroll hosts Capital in a 6 p.m. contest on Saturday. It will mark the final regular season home match for the Blue Streaks, who will honor their seniors prior to the match.
