Aramis Greenwood was a dual threat for the Blue Streak football team in 2014, whether ot was returning kicks or catching passes. The Associated Press recognized his excellence on the gridiron this past season, naming Greenwood to the 2014 Little All-America Football Team.
Greenwood was listed on the AP Little All-America Third Team Offense as an All-Purpose Player.
The Associated Press Little All-America team honors the top players in Divisions II and III of the NCAA as well as the NAIA. The Associated Press began naming Little All America football teams in 1934.
In earning this prestigious honor, Greenwood becomes the second John Carroll player to be selected to the AP Little All-America team in as many years as
Kresimir Ivkovic was a second team kicker in 2013. There have been nine players in program history who have earned first, second or third team AP All-America accolades dating back to the legendary Carl Taseff in 1950.
Greenwood enjoyed a banner season in his senior campaign, as he accounted for 1,269 all-purpose yards built largely upon 909 yards receiving and 346 yards on kick returns. The Fairport Harbor, Ohio native returned the opening kickoff 84 yards for a score in an 80-0 win over Marietta on October 18, marking the first kickoff return for a touchdown in program history since 2002.
Additionally, Greenwood went on to haul in touchdown receptions of 45, 10 and 13 yards, the third which broke the all-time mark for receiving touchdowns in program history.
A week later against Capital, Greenwood went the length of the field to start the game with a 100-yard kick return for a touchdown.
For his career Greenwood finished with 149 receptions for 2,307 yards and 27 scores. Both the reception and yardage marks rank second in program history.
The AP Little All-America honor is the latest in a string of postseason accolades for Greenwood. He was named to the AFCA All-America team, the D3football.com All-North Region first team, and the All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team
John Carroll concluded its season with an 11-2 record, advancing to the NCAA Division III Football Championship quarterfinals for the third time in program history.
