Box Score John Carroll made the trek to Buffalo Saturday hoping to be the first to knock off undefaeted Medaille. But an early goal less than five minutes into the contest proved to be the game winner as the Mavericks held off the Blue Streaks, 1-0, in a non-conference clash.
For Medaille (7-0), Alex Pollak scored at the 3:19 mark for the game's lone goal as he headed in a corner kick from reigning Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Offensive Player of the Week Bryan Sibble.
JCU would win the battle lof shots (11-9) and corners (4-3) but could net the equalizer over the final 86 minutes of regulation.
Derek Jenkins made five saves in his first career start for John Carroll (3-3)
