Complete ResultsThe John Carroll University women's swimming and diving team returned to form with a big win over Hiram on Friday evening inside the Johnson Natatorium. John Carroll would claim first place in every race on its way to a 163-62 win.
John Carroll started strong taking first in the 200-medley relay with
Carly Adams,
Lindsey Fano,
Megan Hawk and
Victoria Watson teaming to touch first at 1:53.38.
The Blue and Gold recorded their first sweep of the night in the grueling 1,000-free with
Katii Sheffield leading a one-two-three finish at 11:28.69.
Allison McGreer touched second at 11:38.92 with
Amanda Ailkhani third at 11:54.90.
Amanda Casamatta,
Jane Verdi and
Carly Adams followed suit in the 200-free taking first through third. Casamatta narrowly out-touched Verdi to take first at 2:02.05.
The women picked up their third sweep of the night in the 100-free with
Anne Crowley leading the trio at 56.48. JCU's fourth sweep of the night took place in the 500-free as Sheffield would lead the Blue and Gold at 5:34.14.
JCU would go one-two in the 400-IM with Fano and Sheffield touching at 5:00.14 and 5:17.98 respectively. Likewise for JCU in the 100-fly with Hawk racing to a 1:04.57 and Casamatta right behind at 1:05.61.
Teresa Prinster would win the 100-back with a swim of 1:06.02 while Watson took first in the 50-free at 25.27.
Kelly Dockery edged out Hiram's Samantha Polmanteer to take first in the 1-meter diving with a score of 166.1.
Sam Clark would take the 3-meter unopposed at 129.6
For the final two races of the evening head coach
Mark Fino exhibitioned his squad being so far up in the score. That did not stop the Blue Streaks from sweeping first in all the races.
Adams clocked in at 1:11.22 in the 100-breast and the relay of Hawk, Connell, Fano and Watson would cap the night with a 1:44.46 in the 200-free relay.
John Carroll improved to 6-2 in dual meets while Hiram fell to 3-9.
