The John Carroll volleyball team went on the road with a six-set winning streak, hoping to use that momentum against crosstown rival Baldwin Wallace. The Blue Streaks could not capitalize, however, falling to Baldwin Wallace in three sets (25-21, 25-1, 27-25) on Tuesday night in Berea, Ohio.

Sarah Orlandi led all JCU players with eight kills, and Kit O'Shaughnessy added 31 assists. The Blue Streaks were undone by 27 attack errors in the match.

John Carroll falls to 3-3 in OAC play, and 12-12 overall. Baldwin Wallace improves to 21-5 and 4-2 in the OAC.

The Blue Streaks were level with the Yellow Jackets, 9-9, in the first set. Baldwin Wallace finished off the set, 25-21, off a kill by Lauren Gehring. In the next set, Baldwin Wallace led 16-7 en route to a 25-19 win.

JCU fought back in the third set, coming back from three match points to stay alive at 25-25. Two straight BW kills ended the match at 27-25.

JCU had won three of the last matches in the series, and swept the Yellow Jackets in both matches last year.

John Carroll returns home to face Capital on Senior Day this Saturday at 1:00 p.m. This will be the final match of the season for the Blue Streaks, and the final home match in the careers of the four seniors Sara Kaminski, Sarah Orlandi, Alyssa Zollos and Alex Ehrett.
