The John Carroll University women's swimming and diving team narrowly defeated the Allegheny Gators in an exciting battle at Johnson Natatorium on Friday night, 120-119. JCU's previous losses came by narrow margins, but tonight the Blue Streaks had luck -- and talent -- on their side.

The JCU women's squad started the meet out strong with a victory in the 200 Medley Relay. The team of Carly Adams, Lindsey Fano, Margaret Zagrobelny and Emma Connell touched in at 1:53.20.
With the Blue Streaks needing victories to make up points, Carly Adams and Chloe Ruggerio delivered in the 400 IM. Adams touched in at 4:45.80 and Ruggerio at 5:04.86 to claim first and second, respectively.
In the 100 Butterfly, Anne Crowley took home first with a time of 1:00.84, while Sophie Kocheff closely followed in behind her in third place with a time of 1:04.02.
In the 100 Free, Amanda Casamatta also touched in first at 55.81. Amanda Carroll finished right after her in second place at 57.32.
The Blue Streaks were also victorious in the 100 Back, with Carly Adams coming in first with a time of 1:01.11 and Emma Carroll touching in at third with a time of 1:06.38.
For the 1-meter dive, Samantha Clark (148.1) and Julianna Clark (119.9) both had strong outings, coming in third and fourth, respectively.
Jane Verdi battled in the 500-yard Freestyle, notching a third place with a time of 5:34.25.
In 3-meter dive, Samantha Clark battled as the lone diver for John Carroll and scored 173.40, and grabbed 3rd place.
The women's 200-yard relay capped off a victorious night with a second place finish. The team of Amanda Casamatta, Jane Verdi, McKenzie Stine and Anne Crowley touched in at 1:43.14.
The Blue Streaks look to continue to use their momentum with a quick turn around as they take on Mount Union at the Johnson Natatorium on Saturday, November 21 at 1 p.m.
