Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Furious Rally Comes Up Short As Blue Streaks Fall In OAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament

Trailing 6-1 at halftime of a 2015 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round game at Capital Wednesday, nothing had gone right for John Carroll. The Blue Streaks could have packed it in or chosen to fight.

The decision was clearly made to fight, and the Blue Streaks pulled to within a goal before ultimately falling 8-6 to the top seed and host Crusaders.

Declan O'Grady scored three times and MacGregor Roberts scored once as John Carroll outscored Capital 4-1 in the third period to pull to within 7-5.

Keegan Flinter was able to draw the Blue Streaks to within a single tally at 7-6 with a goal in a man-up situation with just over eight minutes remaining in regulation.

The Blue Streaks had three possessions and two shots in an attempt to tie the game but could not get the equalizer. A late goal by Capital's Brett Walton put the game away with 2:18 to play.

JCU was done in by only converting two of nine man up situations despite outshooting Capital 32-19. The Blue Streaks also could not take advantage of a monster day from Kyle Patterson, who won 16 of 17 faceoffs.

Cole Palmby made 16 saves for Capital, which moves to 15-2 on the year and into the championship game of the OAC Tournament against its crosstown rival Otterbein.

Kyle Lake made seven saves for John Carroll, whose season came to an end at 9-7.
