Over the course of a track season, records will fall. Individuals come along and shatter the previous pace. Rarely, however, will a team re-write a chunk of their record book.
The John Carroll women's indoor track team has done that - and it only took them a weekend.Â
Multiple Blue Streaks records were torn out of the history books, as the squad made history at the Greater Celeveland Championships and the Kent State Tune Up.Â

Kent State Tune-UpThe weekend kicked off with some runners and many field events at Baldwin Wallace's Harrison Dillard Center on Friday evening. One of the top performances was turned in byÂ
Nicole Pilewski, who was second in the long jump at 4.90 meters.Â
At the Kent State Tune Up, Blue Streaks performers turned in top times.Â
The women's 4X400 meter relay team took full advantage of their time, flying to a school record 4:00 flat. The team of
Sara Martinko,
Joy Nyaanga,
Noelle Saluan and
Ashura Powell finished third in the event.Â
One record was not enough for Powell, however, as she also broke the 200-meter record with a 27th place finish at 26.66. Nyaanga ran a 27.33 in the race.Â
Christine Smith and
Cassie Schillero finished back-to-back in the 1,000-meter run. Smith finished seventh (3:13.78) and
Becky Rohwer was close behind in eighth at 5:24.41.
Emmy Jenkins ran the 60-meter in 7.94, finishing 13th.Â
Hanna Sterle and
Becky Rohwer placed well in the 1-mile run, with Sterle crossing in 5:23.48 and Rohwer ending with a time of 5:24.41.
A John Carroll alum was also in attendance. Former All-American Gabriella Kreuz raced unattached in the 1-mile run, breaking the five-minute mark for the first time and winning the event at 4:56.35.Â
