George Harrison once penned a song titled "All Things Must Pass" in which he laments "Sunrise doesn't last all morning"
The John Carroll "sunrise" of being unbeaten for nearly a month came to an end Friday night against the #15 ranked team in Division III Ohio Northern. Two first half goals stood up for the Polar Bears as the hosts defeated the Blue Streaks, 2-0, in Ada, Ohio.
The loss marked John Carroll's first defeat since a 1-0 loss to Kenyon in overtime on September 20. JCU also saw its run of shutouts end at four in a row when Rose Nienaber scored her sixth goal of the year in the 25th minute.Â
Ohio Northern's other goal was a penalty kick in the 39th minute.
JCU was outshot on the night, 18-5.
Rhianna Guarnera made ten saves, the second of which moved her into fifth place all-time in John Carroll history in that category.
Ohio Northern is now 12-1-1 overall and 5-0 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks slip to 7-4-2 overall and 3-1-1 in league matches.
