John Carroll baseball fell in the final game of their Florida swing on Saturday, losing to Wheaton (Ill.), 9-1, in North Port, Fla.
With the loss, JCU falls to 4-7 on the year, concluding the week with a 3-5 record in the Sunshine State while competing in the Gene Cusic and Snowbird Baseball Classics.
Jake Servidio (0-1) took the loss following four innings of four run baseball.

Carter Semancik and
Ryan Bastien allowed a combined seven runs in relief.
Wheaton put a trio of runs on the board by the end of the second inning. John Carroll scored their lone run on an error by the shortstop that allowed
Patrick Keohane to score from second.
Wheaton scored one in the fourth, fifth and sixth before plating a pair in the ninth. Christian Bolhuis (2-0) allowed one hit in six innings, the lone Blue Streaks hit on the afternoon.
Keohane leaves Florida as the clubhouse leader in batting average (.420) and hits (21).
Monroe Donnelly has two home runs thus far on .413 hitting with 15 RBI.
Mark Materise has a team-best 2.25 ERA, along with Bastien and
Joseph Franke.
JCU heads back from Florida overnight, with a three-game swing with Transylvania scheduled for Mar. 18 and 19 in Lexington, Ky.
