An early lead was unable to withstand an offensive-heavy attack in game one of the Blue Streak's Florida trip.

The John Carroll University women's lacrosse team fell to Marymount University, 18-11, on Tuesday morning at Ann Dever Stadium in Port Charlotte.

With the loss, the Blue Streaks now have a 2-2 record. Marymount improved to 4-1, with the lone loss to #6 ranked Salisbury.

Grace Curatolo led JCU with four goals, followed by reigning Ohio Athletic Conference player of the Week
Gina Vilsack and
Meghan Harte who each had two. Jessica Crew led Marymount with a game-high six goals.
JCU started the game by scoring three goals within the first 3:06 of play, but Marymount answered by going on a 5-1 run.

The Blue Streaks fought back off of two more Curatolo goals, to knot the game up midway through the first half.

Harte and Vilsack each snagged their second goal of the game in the final minutes of the first half to take a 10-9 lead going into halftime.

Crew of Marymount scored her fourth and fifth goal of the game at the start of the second half to give the Marymount Saints the lead, 11-10.

From there, the Saints would kick into another gear by scoring seven of the final eight tallies of the game. The lone goal for JCUÂ was scored by freshman
Sarah Cilano.

The Blue Streaks will stay in Port Charlotte, Fla. to take on Methodist University this Thursday evening at 7:30 pm for game two of their Florida trip.
