John Carroll, which had not played in seven days, looked fresh from the rest and had 18 shots with 10 being on goal. meanwhile, the Pioneers attempted 10, but not a single one was on frame.
In the 11th minute, JCU found their its opportunity, attempting three shots, but not one was able to find the back of the net.
Justina Fortson broke through for the Blue and Gold in the 28th minute after
Rachel Braunegg found the senior in the box, giving the Blue Streaks a 1-0 lead.
Braunegg got involved in the scoring action shortly before halftime, registering her first career goal for John Carroll.Â
The Blue and Gold went into the break leading 2-0. John Carroll dominated the possession majority of the half attempting nine shots, compared to the Pioneers two.
In the second half,Transylvania came out firing taking two shots to start the half, but to no avail.Â
Bailey Fischer sealed the deal in the 55th minute scoring her team high fourth goal of the season.Â
The John Carroll defense stepped up blocking seven of the nine shots attempted by the Pioneers.Â
JCU improves to 2-2-1, on the season and will travel to Gambier, Ohio, on Wednesday, September 20, to take on Kenyon College. Start time is set for 4:30 p.m.
