In the Blue Streaks' final regular-season game, John Carroll came up short at the Decarlo Varsity Center, dropping a four-set match to Wilmington College.
Prior to today's match, John Carroll's seniors
Caitlin Cianciolo and
Becca Fortsch were honored for their athletic and academic accomplishments within their four years playing for the Blue Streaks.

In a relatively close first set, Wilmington lead the match 15-12 halfway through due to a handful of errors by the Blue Streaks. John Carroll was unable to comeback, giving the first set to the Fightin' Quakers (25-20).
The Blue Streaks responded with a strong early start in the second set, taking a 7-2 lead over Wilmington. Wilmington was able to come back and pull away with another victory winning the set 25-22.
With the Blue Streaks' final regular-season game on the line, John Carroll came out with a strong advantage in the beginning moments of the third set, taking an early nine-point lead (10-1). The Blue Streaks did not look back for the rest of the set, decisively winning the 25-13 to cut Wilmington's lead in half (2-1).
Both teams' adrenaline was running high as they faced off in set fourth set of the afternoon. In the closest set of the match, Wilmington had only a one point advantage (15-14) by the halfway mark. Despite attempts to regain the lead, the Blue Streaks were defeated 25-23.
Leaders in today's match for the John Carroll offense were Cassie Calamunci with 14 kills and
Sarah Calabrese with 11.
Ally Bartolone also recorded 27 assists.
Senior
Caitlin Cianciolo led the defense with 18 digs, followed by Bleile with 14.
At the end of the regular season, Cianciolo is ranked seventh in John Carroll's history with 1,515 digs.
Becca Fortsch also contributed to John Carroll's defense, tallying 368 in her career as a Blue Streak.
After today's loss, the Blue Streaks finished their regular season with a 15-13 (2-7 OAC) record. Â
