Sophomore running back Mike Canganelli has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week after an impressive outing in John Carroll's 45-35 win over Baldwin Wallace on November 10.

Canganelli rushed for 270 yards and three touchdowns in the the win, increasing his total to 1,233 rushing yards and 16 rushing touchdowns on the season. His 270 rushing yards was the second highest single-game rushing yardage total in the history of the John Carroll football program.

In his sophomore year, Canganelli ranks 14th all time for career rushing yards and is tied for 12th all-time in career rushing touchdowns. His 1,233 rushing yards total in 2018 is the third all time, while his 16 rushing touchdowns is tied for fourth. Both numbers are among single-season records for their respective categories.

Canganelli is ranked second in the OAC in rushing yards per game (123.1) and touchdowns (16). His 1,820 all-purpose yard total ranks eighth in the country.

This is the first time Canganelli has been honored as the OAC Player of the Week.

He will defend his honors on November 17 against Randolph Macon in the first round of the NCAA tournament.
