Adam Thompson Named OAC Defensive Player of the Week

| By:

Senior defensive end Adam Thompson has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets on November 10.

Thompson led John Carroll with 13 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks, setting single-season highs in each category, respectively. He also added one forced fumble.

Because of his performance on Saturday, Thompson now ranks in the top 10 in program history for career sacks (16).

Thompson currently leads the Blue Streaks with 56 tackles and is second on the team in sacks (8.5) and tackles for loss (13.0). The defensive end has recorded at least one sack in five games this season, including a season high 2.5 against BW and Capital on October 6.

Thompson leads a JCU defensive line unit that ranks first in the nation among all conferences with 54 sacks this season.

This is the second time that Thompson has been named OAC Defensive Player of the Week. He earned the same honors last season when he tallied six tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack against Marietta on October 7, 2017.

Thompson will defend his honors on Saturday, November 17 against Randolph Macon.
