Homeschools Regatta Commences Spring Season

On Saturday, March 24th, the John Carroll University Rowing team commenced their spring sprint season with the Homeschools Regatta. Joined by the crews of Cleveland State and Case Western Reserve, the annual regatta was a great opportunity for some friendly competition between the collegiate teams that share the Cuyahoga River. Despite frigid temperatures, family and friends loyally supported the team. In addition to the head races, John Carroll's group of novice women had the chance to finally spend some time together rowing on the water. Overall, the regatta was a positive experience for the team and they are looking forward to the rest of their season.

Later that night, the team hosted a successful fundraising dinner just down the street from the boathouse at McCarthy's. Nearly two hundred rowers, family, friends, and alumni gathered to celebrate the start of the Blue Streaks' season. Overall, the fundraiser was a massive success, as it will allow the team to purchase items such as new boat riggers, decals, lights, and batteries for coxswain boxes. In addition, the money will be used to fund the team's trip to Dad Vails in Philadelphia this May. The team is very grateful for the generosity of all those who attended and supported the team.
