Jim Schaab Regatta Prepares Blue Streaks for May

On Saturday, April 21st, the John Carroll University Rowing team traveled to Buffalo, New York to compete in the Jim Schaab Regatta. This final all-team regatta provided a chance for the team to race in different lineups against some very good competition. For the first time this season, there was even some warm weather, for which they were very appreciative of! In addition, the team is very grateful to the families that provided meals and hospitality to them during their stay in Buffalo.

Due to the original race course's conditions, the location of the regatta was changed to the Tonowanda Creek, a straight canal that gave the team an advantage because of their practice on the windy Cuyahoga River. Although none of the four boats that competed this past weekend advanced to finals, the regatta was a great opportunity for the rowers to compete against teams similar to those that they will be racing against at Dad Vails. As the semester begins to wind down, the boats competing at this race, widely known as the largest collegiate regatta in the United States, will be working hard to get strokes in order to be prepared.
