John Carroll did its best to make a game of it Saturday night against #23 ranked Ohio Northern.

After falling behind 2-0, John Carroll trimmed the deficit in half in the 63rd minute, but could not find the equalizer over the final 27 minutes in falling to the Polar Bears, 2-1, at Don Shula Stadium.

Ohio Northern improves to 11-2-2 overall, runs its winning streak to seven matches and remains undefeated at 5-0-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.

The Blue Streaks, who played a first place team for the third consecutive match, fall to 7-5-2 overall and 3-2-0 in league action.

Jenna Fuller in the first half, and Rose Nienaber early in the second half to build the Ohio Northern lead to 2-0.

John Carroll, however, did not back down. Jaclyn Audino sent a corner into the box and Claudia Lenhart headed it in for the first Blue Streak tally of the night.

JCU kept the pressure on for the remainder of regulation, but despite a few near misses, could not pull even.
