Freshman Alex Heishman tallied her second goal to keep the Blue Streaks in the game, but once again the Big Red responded with a swift three goals hitting the back of the net over the next nine minutes, giving them a hefty 6-2 lead with 13 minutes left in the first half.

JCU would at one juncture pull to within 6-4, but Denison would close the half on a 7-2 run.
