John Carroll University Set To Launch 100 Years Of Athletics With New Logo & Visual Identity

The 1919-1920 St. Ignatius College Men's Basketball team
On December 20, 1919, the first varsity intercollegiate athletic contest in the history of St. Ignatius College was held in a small gym on the west side of Cleveland.

Nearly a century later, the school now known as John Carroll University is prepared to launch a year-long celebration of 100 year of athletics with a special new logo and visual identity reveal today at 3:30 p.m. in the DeCarlo Varsity Center.

The process began in early 2018 for a rebrand to update messaging and streamline the visual representation for John Carroll across all aspects of athletic competition, with the final product coinciding with the 100 year celebration. In addition to a new logo, the visual identity will also receive a new look concerning such aspects as color, typography and structure.

The new logo and visual identity will be implemented for the 2019-2020 academic year.

JCUsports.com will post the logo, the colors and the story behind it at 4:00 p.m. today. The website and the mobile app (available Google Play and the Apple App Store) will reflect these changes at the same time.
