It was a bountiful spring break trip for the JCU women's lacrosse team.
They won both games by double digits. They scored over 20 goals in both games. They held their opponents to single digit goals in both games.
To top it off,
Rachel Dell earned her 100th career coaching victory.Â
All in all, a solid few days in Florida.
Wednesday morning's effort was a 21-7 victory over Neumann (PA). JCU burst out to a 15-2 lead at the intermission and cruised to the victory from there.
The Blue Streaks scored the first five goals of the contest, led by
Emma Workman with two. After Neumann scored two of the next three goals, the Blue Streaks closed out the final 14 minutes of the half with nine goals.
Colleen Grombala had four of those in that spree.
This the fourth consecutive game in which JCU has topped 20 goals.
John Carroll had 37 shots to Neumann's 16, including 32 on goal compared to 12 for the Lions.
The Blue Streaks also had significant advantages in draw controls (22-9) and ground balls (19-10). Grombala (6), Workman (4) and
Shannon Burdick (4) accounted for 14 of those draw controls, while
Alex Heishmann and
Kendall Gessner had five ground balls apiece.
JCU is now 3-1 on the year and will face Wooster on Saturday at 1 pm.
