A Day Full Of Personal Bests Has JCU Men's Track & Field Hitting Their Stride

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- It was another gorgeous day for some outdoor track & field in Alliance, Ohio, as John Carroll University Men's Track & Field traveled to University of Mount Union to compete at the second outdoor meet of the season, facing off against Baldwin Wallace, Muskingum, Mount Union, and Marietta. 

The day got started with the 100m dash with senior Deven Ward (10.70 sec) and sophomore Garrett Clark (10.79) finishing first and second in the finals to help set the tone for the Blue Streaks. These times put them both top ten in the nation as of right now. 

In the 1500m race, junior Ian Pierson (3:53.05) and sophomore Alex Phillip (3:53.15) finished first and second putting them first and second in the nation. Senior Jamie Dailey (3:55.05) and junior Patrick White (3:56.00) rounded up the top four for the team as they are also placed in the nation's top ten in the event. 

Moving forward with more on the distance side, in the 800m race, freshman Caleb Correia continued his success running 1:55.42 to put him ninth in the nation. Not too far behind was junior Gabe Ernest, who crossed the line in 1:57.82 to finish third. 

In the Men's 5000m race, freshman Ethan Domitrovich made his debut running 15:44.62 finishing fifth to round up the scoring for the Blue Streaks. 

In the field events, sophomore Zach Szafarski places second in the hammer throw with a mark of 43.16m, while freshman Noah Schroeder places fourth with a mark of 39.40 to put up big points for the men. 

The Blue Streaks will make their next appearance in Berea, Ohio next Friday, April 2 at Baldwin Wallace, where they will compete against Marietta, Capital, Baldwin Wallance, and Otterbein for the third meet of the outdoor season.
