UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- After four consecutive losses, John Carroll ended their losing streak by beating Baldwin Wallace University, 3-1, in the first match of a doubleheader. The second match for the Blue Streaks did not end in their favor, with Baldwin Wallace coming back getting a 3-0 victory over JCU in the second match of Tuesday night's Northeast Ohio OAC showdown.

Match 1

After dropping four matches straight, the Blue Streaks put an end to their losing streak by capturing a 3-1 victory over crosstown rivals Baldwin Wallace.

In the second set, the Blue Streaks continued to buzz past the Yellow Jackets. Baldwin Wallace was forced to take a timeout, as John Carroll went up 16-11 partway through the second set. The Blue and Gold held onto the lead, giving them a 25-15 victory in the second set.

Baldwin Wallace turned on their offensive stride to prevent the Blue Streaks from sweeping them in the first match of the night. The Yellow Jackets won the third set, 25-16, forcing the game into the fourth set.

Despite dropping the third, John Carroll came out just as strong as their first two sets for the fourth and final set of the first match. John Carroll won the fourth set, 25-15, and the match, 3-1.

In the second set, the Yellow Jackets continued to own the court with a 25-13 victory capitalizing more off of JCU errors.

In the third and final set of the doubleheader, both teams battled it out neck and neck until the last moments. John Carroll held the lead 12-9 in the third match, but soon after, Baldwin Wallace would climb their way back to the lead, taking a 14-13 advantage over JCU.
