Men’s T&F posts top performances at OAC Tune-Up ahead of the OAC Outdoor Championships next week

BEREA, Ohio -- The John Carroll Men's Track & Field team traveled to Berea, OH for the OAC Tune-Up hosted by Baldwin Wallace. The Blue Streaks went up against Capital, Muskingum, Baldwin Wallace, and Otterbein for today's meet. 

We got things started in the field events, where Senior Jacob Fritsch continued his success in the javelin throw, winning the event with a mark of 56.45m. Sophomore Zach Szafarski made his appearance in the event placing fourth with a mark of 39.82m. In the Men's Shot Put, Senior Joe McNulty would place fifth in the event with a mark of 12.80m. In the Men's Long Jump, Freshmen Willis Goodwin (6.42m) and Jimmy Kartsonas (6.27m) would place second and third in the event to score for the Blue Streaks,

Moving on to the distance side, Junior Pat White would lead the charge in the men's mile finishing third with a time of 4:19.54, followed by Freshman Ethan Domitroich posting a huge PR of 4:20.93. Junior Ian Pierson would finish seventh rounding up for the Blue Streaks with a time of 4:26.18. Lastly, in the Men's 800m race, Senior Connor McIntrye would place fourth with a time of 2:05.31. 

In the sprinting events, Senior Deven Ward would continue his success rolling in the 100m dash, winning the event with a time of 10.76 sec. In the Men's 4 x 100m relay, the team of Junior Garrett Clark, Sophomore Mick Doyle, Junior Mark Zahren, and Senior Deven Ward would win the event with a time of 41.34 sec to put them sixth in the nation. In the 400m race, Senior Bobby Fogle would place third with a time of 52.25 sec, followed by Sophomore Cameron Klauke placing fourth with a time of 53.42 sec.  

Next week, the Blue Streaks will travel to Tiffin, OH to the campus of Heidelberg University for the OAC Outdoor Championships, competing against every conference school. The meet will take place Thursday through Friday, May 6th and 7th.
