UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- After a thrilling victory on Saturday against Baldwin Wallace to capture the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship and the OAC's automatic bid to the big dance, John Carroll University Men's Lacrosse gathered Sunday night to learn its postseason fate.

For the program's fifth-straight appearance in the NCAA Division III Championships, the Blue Streaks will head to Lancaster, Pennsylania for the opening rounds.

The Blue Streaks will do battle with Franklin and Marshall College, the site hosts for this weekend. The Diplomats will host the Blue Streaks for a 4 p.m. contest on Saturday. The next round will be on Sunday, also hosted by Franklin and Marshall.

In four previous appearances, the Blue Streaks have a 2-4 mark in the NCAA Tournament, three of the losses coming to powerhouse RIT.  The Diplomats have six previous appearances dating back to 1988.

A total of 31 teams gained entrance to this year's tournament. The Diplomats clinched an AQ thanks to a Centennial Conference championship via a 7-0 regular season. The Blue Streaks will carry a 14-1 overall mark into Saturday's showdown.

John Carroll is just one of four schools in the nation to have lacrosse teams alive in both the men's and women's lacrosse tournament. St. John Fisher, SUNY Cortland, and Denison are the others.
