The Blue Streaks remain undefeated in dual meets.
SOUTH EUCLID -- Many members of John Carroll Women's Swimming & Diving likely spent more time racing than in the very short bus ride to South Euclid. As on Friday evening, Notre Dame College hosted John Carroll and Oberlin for a nice non-conference event between local squads.

The meet was scored as a double dual meet. John Carroll tallied a 149-72 victory over Oberlin and a 157-64 win over Notre Dame College.

Final Results

The meet opened with a victory for JCU in the 200 Yard Medley Relay. Maddie Panus, Regan Gunzy, Olivia Goodman, and Gwyneth Hamilton combined for a time of 1:54.71, a three-plus second win to start the day.

Ashley Lynch kept the fun rolling in the 200 Free, winning the event with a time of 2:02.21. JCU did not make it three wins in a row in the 100 IM, but JCU was well-represented. Allie Geletka (1:06.36), Annamarie Habusta (1:07.72), and Regan Gunzy (1:07.79) notched third through fifth in the event.

The star freshmen duo of Mairin Dalziel and Mary Hoffman stole the show in the 50 Free. Dalziel edged out Hoffman, winning with a time of 24.69, though Hoffman was close at 25.26.

Dalziel returned to the pool in short order for the 100 Fly, and won yet again. The young phenom nabbed a winning time of 1:01.12, earning the W by over two seconds.

Hamilton won the gold in the 100 Free for JCU. The star sailed for a time of 55.82, getting a win by just .01 seconds in a photo finish.

Goodman got a workout in the 500 Free, and was rewarded with second place, touching the wall at 5:35.04. Lauren Spence got a nice fourth-place result in 5:44.47.

JCU's speedsters showed off in the 200 Free Relay with a win. Dalziel, Hamilton, Lynch, and Hoffman teamed up for a time of 1:42.20 to win the event.

John Carroll tallied first and third next in the 100 Back. Lauren Koppelmann (1:04.07) and Rachel Halapchuk (1:06.57) did the honors with grace.

The 100 Breaststroke was also dominated by JCU. Goodman got the win with a time of 1:11.46. Regan Gunzy (1:14.17) and Bojena Gross (1:14.82) soared to third and fourth.

The fun finished with the 400 Free Relay. Dalziel, Lynch, Hamilton, and Hoffman scored first with a wonderful mark of 3:47.88.

The diving was won by the Blue Streaks, as it was not contested simultaneously, since NDC does not have a diving well. Catherine Steinwachs won with a score of 158.70, followed by Kathryn Visco in second at 156.75, and Sarah Hanlon in third at 145.80.

John Carroll returns to action after finals week, heading to Findlay on December 17.
